This luxury lakefront landscape in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan on Orchard Lake transforms a private residence into a refined outdoor living retreat inspired by classic European garden design. The project creates a seamless transition from the home to the water through a series of structured landscape spaces, including garden pathways, architectural arbors, and layered planting beds that frame views of the lake. A tiered hardscape system using Techo-Bloc wall materials and County Materials paving redefined the steep lakeside grade into functional terraces for lounging, dining, and entertaining. Custom limestone stairs, retaining walls, and iron railings anchor the design while enhancing safety and continuity. Ornamental grasses, birch trees, and shoreline plantings soften the structure and provide seasonal interest, resulting in a timeless balance between formal landscape design and natural lakefront beauty.
